Marian "Wildmaven" Murdoch: Born and raised in the glitz of Las Vegas, I could constantly be found searching for the real world. I would follow ants on their journey, lie on my back and look up at the clouds, or beg to be taken to Lake Mead, just to escape the artificiality of the man-made "paradise". Eventually I found my own Eden in the Pacific Northwest and love to capture nature's special moments with my camera. "Wildmaven?" That's my nickname. 'Maven' means "knowledgeable about", so Wildmaven just means I'm knowledgeable about the wild. My work is collected in the United States, Canada, and the UK and I have been deeply honored to donate my work for charitable auctions to raise money for breast cancer research in New York. Some of my photography and artwork has been included in Sky and Telescope Magazine, several ornithological publications, newsletters for the Seattle Aquarium, and others. I love to photograph people and will photograph up-and-coming models for their portfolios for free. I will also jump to the rescue if your wedding photographer bails on you on your special day.
